Huntsville, AL – April 29, 2016 – Sentar’s Research and Development division today announced that it has been re-appraised at level 2 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) ® for Development. The appraisal was performed by The Breakpoint Consulting Group, a CMMI Institute partner. Breakpoint CG also performed the division’s initial CMMI level 2 appraisal in 2012. CMMI is a capability improvement framework that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance.
An appraisal at maturity level 2 indicates the organization is performing at a “managed” level. At this level, projects have ensured that processes are planned and executed in accordance with policy; the projects employ skilled people who have adequate resources to produce controlled outputs; involve relevant stakeholders; are monitored, controlled, and reviewed; and are evaluated for adherence to their process descriptions.
Since Sentar’s R&D division was first appraised at CMMI level 2 in 2012, all Research and development projects have been based on CMMI level 2. Sentar has developed multiple programs under these processes and expects to be appraised at CMMI level 3 in the upcoming fiscal year.
