The Charleston division of Sentar, Inc. (Sentar) was recently ranked 12th on the “Best Places to Work in South Carolina” list, in the small/medium employer category. This award honors the best employers in the state, identifying those that provide an exceptional employee experience and workplace. The annual program was created by SC Biz News in partnership with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group.
The 2016 Best Places to Work in South Carolina award is based on a two-part evaluation process. The first part evaluates the company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consists of an anonymous employee survey to measure the experience of the company’s employees. One factor in Sentar’s favor was the high rate of employee participation and the overwhelming amount of positive comments and praise they provided. The employee survey assesses overall employee satisfaction and engagement regarding company leadership, culture, communication, opportunities to learn and grow, as well as pay and benefits. The combined scores are used to determine the top companies and the final rankings. Best Companies Group, an independent research organization, manages the overall registration and survey process, analyzes the data, and determines the final rankings.
