Huntsville, AL – November 18, 2019 – Sentar, Inc. (Sentar), a women-owned business specializing in advanced Cybersecurity and Intelligence services and technology, announced today the promotion of Joseph Sabin, J.D., CISSP, to Vice President, Health Information Technology (HIT).
A Veteran (Army) and Industry Partner to Federal activities, Sabin leads significant Federal health IT initiatives and capabilities within the Military Health System. Examples include designing an Enterprise-wide COOP platform within Navy Medicine, and managing 100+ personnel that contribute various aspects of cyber security on behalf of the Defense Health Agency (DHA). He has further helped identify, build, and sustain staff, offices, and capabilities in new locations such as San Antonio, TX; and, the Pacific Northwest. These efforts have included novel concepts that have both endured and earned awards for innovation within the Federal health IT domain. Within this context, Sabin also received the Patriot Award by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). Combined, his execution, collaboration with government and industry counterparts, and leadership helped establish emerging and sustainable health IT approaches across the DHA.
In total, Sabin’s career spans nearly thirty years, almost all of which have involved organizations and efforts that support our Nation, military, and way of life. Moving forward, Sabin will work to build upon Sentar’s contributions within the DHA; and, to identify, build partnerships, and engage additional cyber opportunities in both the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Health and Human Services where Sentar may offer clear value.
“A central part of our growth strategy is to expand our solutions to a broader array of health IT clients, working with them to address new challenges such as IP-enabled medical device security, and the privacy and transportability of electronic data records.” said Bridget McCaleb, Catalyst/CEO. “Joe’s dedication to the health IT industry has allowed Sentar to play a meaningful role in new innovations within the Military Health System such as the Cyber Operations Center (CyOC).”
“When people ask me why I work for Sentar, I tell them that I came to this company with an ambitious list of professional opportunities and areas of impact I wanted to learn about, engage with, and contribute to over time,” said Joe, regarding his promotion. “I can honestly say that this company, its leadership, and the colleagues I’ve had the pleasure to work with have afforded me the opportunity, impact, and so much more each step of the way!”
