Sentar proudly announces it has been selected by FedHealthIT as an Innovation Award Winner for its work on the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Cybersecurity Operations Center (CyOC).
Huntsville, AL – May 22, 2019 – Sentar Inc. (Sentar), a Women-Owned Small Business specializing in advanced Cybersecurity and Intelligence services and technology, and its Government Customer have been selected by FedHealthIT magazine as a 2019 Innovation Award winner. FedHealthIT, a print and digital magazine dedicated to providing Federal health technology news and insights to key Government and industry decision-makers, recently honored companies, agencies, and programs providing effective innovations within the Government healthcare services industry. With this award, FedHealthIT recognizes both Sentar, and the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC), for services and capabilities this Sentar/NIWC collaboration provided to the DHA, resulting in the newly established CyOC initiative.
The CyOC was chosen by FedHealthIT for its innovative unification of key DHA cyber terrain responsibilities into one organization to support, provide, and coordinate cyber activities including Incident Response, Issuance Coordination and Compliance, Red Team, Boundary Protection across the evolving Military Health System (MHS) cyber landscape. Implementation of the CyOC has proven to be an effective and proactive solution to previously formidable risks and roadblocks that would have required extensive manpower or investments; providing collaborative environments to address threats and reduce the Enterprise’s overall attack surface. This approach places the CyOC (and MHS) ahead of applicable cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and high priority taskings. It also serves to keep leaders cognizant of, and responsive to, risks to more than 700 medical IT programs and 9.4 million beneficiaries that fall within the Agency’s area of responsibility.
“We are thrilled to have our program recognized by FedHealthIT for its ability to provide threat reductions across the MHS,” said April Nadeau, Senior Vice President of Navy, Marine Corps, and Health IT. “We are truly honored to share this award with NIWC and our customer, the Defense Health Agency, and look forward to continuing to support the Cybersecurity Operations Center.”
The 5th annual FedHealthIT Innovation awards will be held on June 11th, 2019 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. This event brings together more than 300 senior Federal Health leaders from Government and industry to help celebrate and recognize the top Federal Health programs and the teams behind these innovative efforts in support of Veterans Affairs, Military Health, Health and Human Services, and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The event celebrates the programs that are achieving unparalleled access and elevating functional efficiencies through models that are modern, secure, and scalable.
