Huntsville, Ala., June 4, 2014 — Sentar Corporation announced today that one of its Sr. Information Assurance Analysts, Rick Koch, will be presenting at the 6th Annual N.Ala Cyber Security Summit held at the Von Braun Center. Rick will present the topic “Supply Chain Management of Open Source used within Software Development”. This presentation will focus on showing how open source software (OSS), which is more and more frequently utilized by commercial and government entities during software development, can be analyzed, investigated and tracked based on various risk assessments and metrics to reduce application vulnerability exposure from third party software.
The presentation was developed by Rick Koch and another Sentar Sr. Information Assurance Analyst, Kym Watkin-Statham. Kym has been an officer of the North Alabama Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association in various positions since the beginnings of their annual summit six years ago. Kym and Rick both perform Software Assurance control processes using Sentar technology on a large Federal development project within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
